Graemachorry
Graemachorry Cottage is very remote and offers a real feeling of solitude and wilderness. The House was originally built as a farm house / shepherds house but has not been used for that purpose since the 1960's. The house has been extensively renovated over the last three years and now offers great comfort.
Downstairs there is a spacious kitchen with gas cooker (four ring hob, oven and grill), electric fridge freezer and breakfast bar. There is a bathroom, dining room, living room and single bedroom. Upstairs there are two twin bedrooms and a single bedroom.
Much of the property has been insulated and all windows are double glazed. Heating is provided by a wood burning stove in the living room and a wood fired Rayburn in the dining room. The Rayburn also produces hot water for bathroom and kitchen use.
A small diesel generator and battery inverter kit produces around 2 kW of electricity. This is enough to run the water treatment plant and pump, the fridge freezer and all lighting. There is plenty spare power for things like charging phones and cameras but not for things like electric kettles or toasters.
Water is from a private supply nd is treated by bonechar filter and UV. The water is safe for drinking / brushing teeth etc but if you would prefer to drink bottled water then please bring plenty with you.
