The specimen above was taken from Loch Cullidh and weighed in at 4lb 4oz

The Achentoul Estate has some superb loch fishing on a number of lochs.  Fishing is from boat or bank depending on the loch chosen.

Accommodation is available locally and if booking the cottage it comes with a boat on each loch!

Trout season 16th March - 30th September.

Fishing is for trout only and any Salmon
caught must be returned to the loch.

Prices are the same for all lochs.  Boat hire is £20.00 per day (maximum of two rods) and bank fishing is £10.00 per day per rod.


Loch Arachlinie

Type: Fly only

Notes:
Occasionally a salmon might be caught in Arachlinie but in line with our conservation policy for the headwaters of the River Helmsdale these fish should ALWAYS be returned.  Any salmon which is kept because it is bleeding must be declared to the Game Keeper and shall be retained by the Estate.'

Catches in the region of 20 fish (upward) per day depending on weather conditions and time of year.  A very prolific loch.

Loch Ruthair

Even more prolific than Arachlinie!

Loch Drum

Type: Fly only

Notes:
One of the best trout lochs in the Highlands with an average weight of 1lb or more!  Favourite flies are Black Spiders, Black Pennal, Cockabundy, Greenwell Glory and Loch Ordi.

Loch Lucy

Access: 2 minutes walk from vehicle
Type Fly only

Notes:
A good quality fish usually in the region of 1lb weight with normal catch being 5 or 6 fish a day.  Stocked on a yearly basis.

Loch Cullidh

Notes:
Conditions similar to Loch Lucy.  This loch is also stocked yearly.

Loch Dubh

Access: Park at side of loch

Notes:
The trout are smaller but nice and fat!  Good fighters!
